Schwarze Sonne 2016
A finely nuanced and complex aroma, freshly roasted coffee bean, smoked red bell pepper, blackcurrant, sloe, juniper, dill, dried mint. Juicy and fresh on the palate with pronounced fruit, closely interwoven with spice; fine-grained tannins and lively acidity combine power and structure.

The sun is not only the reason why viticulture is possible on earth. Its strength significantly influences which grape varieties are ripe and how ripe they become. Directly on our local mountain there is a steep, southern exposure characterized by lime. 35°C in the shade easily becomes +10°C here. This climate - perfect for the Cabernet Sauvignon vines - is exactly what turns any work on the vines in the middle of the day into heat stroke.
The tasters of the well-known Eichelmann wine guide commented on the result: "...with the full-bodied, cassis-scented cuvée Schwarze Sonne based on Cabernet Sauvignon, there is also an absolute highlight in the red segment."
